The Purple People Eater 🙌🏽 🧬 Its scientific name, Pelagia Noctiluca, is a bit more appropriate though. This jelly doesn’t feed on people, but it glows in the dark! (Hence the name Noctiluca), and it’s adapted to life in the open ocean (that’s where “Pelagia” comes from) 🙌🏽 📊 With a bell diameter of 3-12 cm, but tentacles reaching up to 10 metres long 🤯, you better be cautious if there’s one around, as they can actually deliver a strong sting. Most jellies have stinging cells on their tent
