I’m assuming they are running the free version. It says “Licensed for VMware vSphere 6 Hypervisor Licensed for 2 physical CPUs (unlimited cores per CPU)”.

2013年1月28日 · The only thing different form essentials and the free version of ESXi is a license key. If you install the free version you can upgrade to Essentials by just updating the the license key. Everything is already in the free version it is just turned off. Essentials will also give you the vCenter server (which is not included in the free version).
