Oct 16, 2024 · The Indus Civilization has been continuous from 3500 BCE to the present. It is one of the earliest, along with Sumer and Egypt. I don't think it has been firmly established whether the earliest was Egypt, Sumer, or Indus. However, Egypt and Sumer were not continuous. So, the oldest continuous civilization necessarily has to be the Indus Valley.

May 12, 2017 · As for Indus Valley civilization being older than that of Sumer and Egypt: I would like to keep an open mind on this subject. It is more likely that only the pre-IVC sites were older. But I doubt that we can push the origin of Indus civilization back beyond the 7th millenium B.C.
