2022年1月12日 · Will be renovating the house soon, and I’m looking to add PoE touchscreens. I found some 10 inch Android PoE tablets made by Philips intended for a room reservation system or digital signage. They’re pretty sleek and they have a LED bar (maybe it could be utilized by HA), cameras, and a speaker.

2021年6月5日 · POE esp devices already exist, I have a couple from olimex. I have still to fined a real use for one. The biggest plus for the esp is the wireless, if you have to run an ethernet cable to for example a doorbell, why not just use that cable to send the signal back to something more central that can be shared and do other things.

2022年9月20日 · asus v161 + texas poe for non poe device if you don't mind windows, can actually run debian as well, mine is running debian. Have to mod for the cable but it works wonder, it's intended for kiosk so it's perfect for HA dashboard. Ethernet connection keeps it stable compared to wifi.

The most important restrictions I've seen on the platform are: Poe severely limits the length of your input text. On ChatGPT I can easily copy/paste an entire article/paper and ask for summaries, etc. But on Poe I get "Message is too long, try again." errors.

I initially connected and powered them with two "edge" HP Aruba Instant On 1930 POE switches (passive cooling) that were wired back to a 3rd "core" switch of the same series in a central location.
