Because of the CSS selectors, it is exceeding unlikely that it will affect any page other than Bing. The result is that only the popular now bar and the show/hide button are hidden, everything else appears normally. This has only been tested for IE 11; for other versions mileage may vary.

However, later in the day today, the news reappeared on my Bing home page so I guess it was just a temporary glitch with Bing or Google (I used Chrome browser).
