I don't know how it is now, but years ago travelling to abu simbel required a motorcade - 5-6 buses with military vehicles front and back, and armed policemen into the buses. I didn't enjoy the Egypt trip that much, to be honest. even though every tomb, pyramid and place was amazing, tour operators and guided were too shady.

Do Abu Simbel as a day trip, that's what almost everyone does. It's a long drive, but it's absolutely worth it. Remember: Aswan is great in itself, but 90% of the reason people go there is because it's the closest town to Abu Simbel. Abu Simbel is a town with almost nothing in it - it exists solely to service the temples.
What's the best way to incorporate Abu Simbel in a tour of Egypt?
2020年3月7日 · If you want to visit Abu Simbel, year best bet is to take a day bus tour from Aswan. There are plenty of buses that do the day tour to Abu Simbel. However 7 days is too short to do Cairo/Giza, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. There is overnight tourist class train from Giza to Aswan via Luxor. Probably the best option.
