Here are a couple more new CSX 800 series passing thru the Washington, D.C. area today February the 16th. No lighting bolts on these unfortunately. First two pic's are of CSX D967 led by CSX 800 and 748 crossing the Tanglewood bridge at 10:30 am near the Hyattsville, Maryland wye. Coal loads were bound for Benning Yard in D.C. from Brunswick, Md.

Last night, there was an S-800 train that came out of Willard around 22:30 towards Fostoria and eventually went to Lima. It was a regular mixed freight. Never heard of 800 series trains before. Anyone know the scoop on this one?

I noticed CSX GE 838 had what appeared to be EP brake cables on both ends. Are these units set up for EP braking? If so what are the number series so equipped? If it turns out these units are not equipped, I will post a photo to show the connection.

Of course the 800 is the Class Unit ex-CR #4100, so it has some history to it. Whether she will be the first YN3 SD80MAC is yet to be seen, but I can't imagine she'd be too far from it after that thing goes.
