2023年3月7日 · TiVo requires a cable card to work with cable, period. Spectrum has made NO announcement of discontinuing cable card support. In fact, the high split converter is specifically to MAINTAIN cc support and replaces the tuning adapter. If HSC isn’t supported in your area, then it’s not needed. Your area isn’t impacted by the high split changes.

2020年8月24日 · Optimum states they no longer support Tivo. I just got a new Edge and removed the cable card from my old Roamio and installed it in the Edge. I called Optimum to have the card unbound from the old Tivo and paired with the new. They are trying to tell me that they no longer support it and I have to get their DVR service.

It just takes a dedicated Spectrum tech who has been around for a while and knows cable cards, which is getting harder to find. This might be a short-lived solution, though.

Since the Cable Card mandate was dropped in 2020, and bandwidth has been getting cheaper and cheaper, the march towards IP based cable TV delivery has only accelerated and it eventually will reach near 100%. Channels DVR software seems to be the best alternative to cable cards, but I haven't tried it yet.
