I do not have Illustrator. How do I open .ai files?
2016年4月14日 · You can't open an AI file if you don't have Illustrator. It might work for files that have been saved with specific options, but then you actually don't open the AI file, but a PDF that is embedded into it. When a file isn't saved with the options needed, then you can't open that file.

2024年10月2日 · On the oldest file: Chalkboard_Bookmarks_old.ai, it was created on my iMac and saved in two different places - on a portable USB drive and also saved on my employer's job server. When I created the most recent file, Chalkboard_bookmarks.ai, I opened up the old file from my hard drive and resaved it in a different folder on that portable hard drive.

I wasn't sure how to -- and stumbled my way to this page -- as I rarely use the app (which i love by the way), but followed the same steps Sue gave below for bringing in PDFs using the 'image' icon on toolbar.
