2009年4月16日 · The Army does take the most at about 375 (+/-) , Navy was 270 (all med school programs) and AF was about 240. In any service, ortho is competitive. I don't know the absolute numbers, but I would guess they are on a par with the Navy at 2apps for every position.

2008年12月10日 · Ortho in the Navy is one of those specialties in which almost no one trains straight through (i.e. PGY1-5) vs. PGY1-->GMO tour-->ortho residency. (Probably) no class match list for an individual year is going to contain the matches in a specialty for that year for an alum/alumna who graduated 4+ years earlier.
HPSP for flight surgeon (thinking Navy) - some questions
2014年2月11日 · You aren't going to be flying as an orthopedic surgeon so you effectivly would kill your pilot qual. Residencies that are more compatible with being a flight doc like FM, EM, Peds, IM increase the chances of being able to do the program as it is designed. The Navy no longer accepts docs into flight training for the program.

I guess the first step would be to get into an M.D. program. D.O.'s have come a long way, but even at this point there is a slight bias towards M.D. candidates.
