Bashan (/ ˈ b eɪ ʃ ə n /; Hebrew: הַבָּשָׁן, romanized: ha-Bashan; Latin: Basan or Basanitis) [1] is the ancient, biblical name used for the northernmost region of the Israel and Transjordan during the Iron Age. [2] It is situated in modern-day Israel, Jordan, and Syria.
