F650GS reliability? - Adventure Rider
2002年8月20日 · The guy that was selling the 02 F650GS also had an 01 R1150GS for sale, which I test-rode right after the F650. It is a fantastic bike, and I could defintely see owning one someday. But the F650GS is great for most of my missions: lots of city and country riding (some improved dirt roads), mostly day-trips, with the occasional overnight.

2009年2月21日 · 2002 was the 2cd year of fuel injection for the F650. Issues with the original 2001 FI should have been solved (surging)by 2002. Issues surrounding the F650 (my opinions only and I do own a F650) is there are steering head bearing issues that seem to show up on forums. Not that big of a deal to fix, but there is the possibility of failure.

2006年11月26日 · For my F650GS, I'll use 10-40 dino mc oil-- per BMW and wet clutch issues. Still new enough not to think about syn-- most likely will stay with dino. For my R1150RS, I use castrol 20-50 mc synth-- as engine is oil cooled-- keep it full. About 18K and just getting broken in. I change filter and oil at 3000 or sooner.

2006年11月29日 · My technique for extended range will be a couple of small gas containers that I mount to the panniers. Simple and cheaper. BMW should have had a larger tank (and gas gauge) given its price -- regardless the really good gas mileage. I tank up at/before the 250km (~157 miles) to be on the safe side (I haven't really push its range limit yet).

2020年10月22日 · A few weeks ago me (06 F650gs Dakar) and a buddy (03 F650gs) spent a cold (20 degrees F) night at high elevation (over 9000') and in the morning, I smelled fuel while riding and eventually noticed fuel spilling down the side of the tank. Pulled the seat and the well inside the pump ring was full of fuel. Partner pulled his and found fuel as well.
