LONDON (AP) — Two of London's most famous markets — one selling fish, the other meat — are set to close in the coming years, bringing an end to traditions stretching back to medieval times.

As for Billingsgate fish market, London Fish Merchants Association (LMFA) confirmed that 90 percent of Billingsgate traders have said they will continue trading when the market in Docklands closes.

Concerns had been raised for the future of Smithfield and Billingsgate fish market after the City of London Corporation voted to withdraw support last month for their current locations.
