Absolutely. Please take rain jackets with you if the day is looking cloudy. Took me about 8 hours to complete the trek. For 7 year old - please ensure that he/she sits on a smaller horse and make sure that the horse is continuously accompanied by the guide. While coming down keep one additional hour as for a small kid the descent is bit too much. Start early at about 8 am from Chandanwari and you should be OK. Cost for 2 horses plus guide = 6000 But note that we went there in off season.

2.5 hours if you don't stop 3.5 hours if you take halts in between I would strongly suggest to go slow and walk for a few km once you cross Pissu ghati to avoid muscle pains.
